College Pride in Sporting Success

We are proud of Leah's achievement in cricket. Leah joined Norton College 5 years ago with a love for cricket and a committed family behind her. Assisted by Norton's PE depts. connections, Leah began to accelerate her progress and at the start of year 11 she has just finished another incredible season of cricket, playing for Yorkshire at under 15, under 17 and 2nd XI. She scored the most runs this season across all the Yorkshire female age groups. Leah also won the Lady Taverners National Under 15 T20 competition with Sessay Cricket Club (Thirsk).

On the development front Leah completed her 2nd year of EPP (Elite Player Pathway) with Yorkshire. She hopes to retain her place and hopefully progress on to the RDC (Regional Development Centre) which is also held at Headingly.

One of the highlights of the season was Leah playing T20 for the "Junior Yorkshire Diamonds (under 20's)" at Loughborough against "Loughborough Lightening", where she was joint top scorer with 22 runs and acquitted herself in the field. A good number of the players on this day are on the England pathway.

And finally, we have just received notification that Leah has been selected to attend the EWP, "England Women Development Pathway" at Loughborough, under 14's to under 19's. Leah epitomises the Colleg mission - believe you can and work hard at it and you give yourself the opportunity to secure the career of choice.
