6th July, 2015
Next year the number of students in Years 7 to 11 will be the highest it has been for five years. As a result, we want to make sure that the ‘family’ feel and relaxed nature of the school, which we have worked hard to achieve, is not lost as the school continues to grow
We have increased the number of classes in Year 7 and Year 9 and this will enable classes to be an appropriate size. This helps teacher marking, student to student relationships and the climate for learning which we believe continues to improve since it was graded Good in 2013.
Governors have approved a growth in the pastoral team. This will mean that each year group will have their own ALC. Staff members such as Ms Megginson, Ms Blackburn, Mr Fryirs and Mrs Algnohuro provide invaluable day to day pastoral care and I am delighted to be able to give each year their own ALC. From next year, Mrs Waines will offer additional senior leadership capacity to the team, as well as being a Progress Leader. Miss Boyd will continue to lead this team.
College re-opens to Year 7 and Year 12 on Wednesday 9th September at the normal time and the remaining years return on Thursday 10th September. This has been yet another busy and successful year. Can I thank you for your continued support to all at the College and wish you a relaxing and enjoyable summer break.
