1st March, 2016

A significant week in the lives of Year 6 students when offer letters for secondary places are sent out.  We are delighted with the interest in Norton College and have added capacity both in terms of teachers and pastoral teams to ensure that all who want a place at Norton have been offered one.  We look forward to meeting you on our first Friendship Afternoon, Thursday 17th March.

Parents’ Evening season is well and truly upon us and we have been delighted with the support from parents.  Attendance levels are at a new high which does make for a busy evening.  Nevertheless, the partnership with home is a cornerstone of our success.

Three events sum up Norton College’s wider offer this term.  Yet another amazing musical ‘Disco Inferno’ brought the house down, followed by our traditional residential trip to Paris and finally a week in which we all focused on ‘well-being’.  Staff and students were reminded that being healthy means both physically and mentally.  We all received timely reminders about how to deal with the pressures of modern life, whether that is by looking out for each other more or seeking relaxation and mindfulness techniques.  My yoga taster session was fascinating and one which I will pursue in the future.
