Congratulations and celebrations all round

It’s been a year to shout about at Norton College. Results for our GCSE and A Level/BTEC students are the best ever results in the school’s history.

So the college’s annual presentation evening on Thursday 15th September was jam-packed full of smiling students brimming with confidence and beaming with pride alongside very happy parents, carers and staff.

Year 11 students, most of whom are now in the sixth form at Norton College, and Year 13 leavers were invited to come into school to celebrate their remarkable achievements.

A phenomenal 74% of students in Year 11 achieved A* - C in English and maths. This is up from 73% last year. The figure is also the highest in Ryedale and the coast. More students from Norton College, than ever before, are going to university (70%) and more are going to Russell Group universities. A number have secured prestigious apprenticeship programmes.

During the evening, students come up on stage to collect awards for progress and attainment and receive trophies for outstanding and significant contributions.

Here at Norton College we have a belief in brilliance. It shows in our results. We know we have created an excellent climate for learning and the students know they have to develop resilience, but that particular quality is what helps them reach the top and be the best they can be.
