GCSE Results, 2016

Students, staff and families celebrated another record breaking set of results at Norton College as 74% of the year group secured A*-C in English and Maths. These are the best results in the history of the College.

Kavina Rothenburg, Senior Deputy Headteacher, added, “To achieve yet another set of brilliant results shows what can be achieved with self belief and hard work.  We are so pleased that students and staff’s best efforts have been rewarded”

A number of students topped the achievement tables by gaining at least 5 A*- A grades; Matthew Anderson, Emily Kellett, Gemma Brazil, James Roger, Stephanie Whitfield, Josh Ward and Charlotte Hunter to name a few. Most will now move into the sixth form at Norton.

Neil Fryirs, Progress Leader for Year 11 summed up the feelings of the teachers by saying, “We are so proud of all the students’ outstanding achievements, this shows their resilience and hard work over the two years of their studies at GCSE.”

Phil Loftus, Headteacher commented, “Last year’s achievements were brilliant and to go beyond expectations this year is incredible. Once again staff’s dedication and students’ hard work have been rewarded and children of all abilities have made amazing progress.”
