Brilliant Sixth form results at Norton College!
Students and staff celebrated another brilliant set of Sixth Form results at Norton College.
Phil Loftus, Headteacher commented, “Norton is a unique local sixth form because it enables students to combine academic with vocational courses. Students have used this to their advantage to secure offers from a wide variety of degree courses; from Film Production at Salford University to Maths at York University.”
Dr Simon Carson, deputy head in charge of sixth form, said: "It is so pleasing to see our A level results improve yet again. Staff are very experienced and know how to help our students prepare and I feel privileged to work with both students and their teachers at Norton College."
Gemma McDonald, Head of Sixth added, "I am really proud of all the hard work and effort that the students have put into achieving, yet again, another set of brilliant results. It is so exciting to see our students going on to great careers, apprenticeships and university courses in ever greater numbers.
The student’s success comes from a belief from all staff that the students can be brilliant if they work hard. we could not be more proud of what staff and students have achieved.”
More students than ever before took up University places and were able to secure places prestigious Universities such as London, York, Nottingham,Salford and Hull. Courses were diverse including English Literature, Dance, Mathematics, English, Environmental Sciences and Performing Arts, Film Production and History.
All who wanted to enter the world of employment, secured jobs or began their career studying Higher Level Apprenticeships in fields such as Business Administration at Norton Primary School .
The College is known for being really clear about its mission - to give all students the opportunity to secure a place at University or secure a career of their choice and for the Class of 2018 it is mission accomplished!
