Performing Arts Trip to London November 2015
The Performing Arts Faculty took 54 students to London for two action packed days to see the sights and experience some of the wonderful opportunities our capital city has to offer. We started the two days very early leaving Norton College at 7.30am. On arrival in London, the students visited the Natural History Museum and all the wonderful exhibits it has to offer. Following this, the students enjoyed an all you can eat buffet at Pizza Hut before being dazzled by the £12 million stage production that is ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’. The students were blown away by the inspirational young actors and the incredible set. After a very long day, students headed to bed to get a good night’s sleep before our second action-packed day.
On day two the students started the day early where half of the group went to the BBC studios and the other half went to a workshop at Pineapple Dance studios. The students visiting the BBC sat on the set for ‘The One Show’ and had a go at performing a radio play. The students taking part in the workshop had an action-packed hour with an actor developing characterisation and then had a question and answer session with one of the actors from ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’. Students then got some free time to shop in Convent Garden before watching the very emotive and thought provoking stage production of ‘War Horse’. It was after this that we made our journey back to Norton College where the students were still full of energy after two very busy days. We can’t wait to go back!
