A helping hand in the future

It might just be the stuff of science fiction, but as scientists in Japan unveil the first baby robot, Norton College is getting in on the act: by building a robotic hand from scratch.

Over the last few weeks, students in years 7 and 8 have been putting their scientific and creative heads together to construct a working robotic hand that can pick up small objects. They plan to enter the robotic hand into a National Science Learning Centre competition where there is a prize of £500 for the winning entrance.
