KS4 Options Process

Year 9 is a milestone in your time at school ‐ the beginning of courses in a variety of subjects. Until now you have taken the same subjects but next year will be different. You will have the opportunity of studying a wider range of subjects and be able to choose, with help, which ones suit you best.

The process of how to choose your options begins in the Spring term.  Subject teachers will talk to you about your potential options and the subjects that we offer in Key Stage 4. This helps you to learn about the courses that we offer. At this time we will also hold an open evening for parents and carers to outline how the process works and answer any questions that you may have. In February, you will be asked to choose your options. All students will then have a meeting with a member of the senior leadership team to discuss their choices. At this stage we will write to you to confirm your options. The Year 9 options process is overseen by Mr Stones (Assistant Headteacher, Curriculum & Assessment). There will be plenty of opportunities throughout the year to ask for advice and guidance from subject teachers as well as your child's mentor and progress leader.

Our options booklet will be uploaded to this page by the end of November in preparation for the year ahead.
