Welcome to Norton College Sixth Form. I am delighted to be able to share the opportunities which are available to post 16 learners. Our strong ethos encourages excellent attitudes to work and achievement. We believe in hard work and see effort as the key to exceeding our own expectations. The college community prides itself on the "family feel" where students are known and respected as individuals.
Choosing Sixth Form can sometimes feel like a difficult decision for students but I believe that with our pastoral support and guidance through this process that the staff can help make the right decision for all of our students.
Great teaching and great learning is what we expect each day from teachers and students, so that we all can face the future with confidence. Everyone connected to the College has high expectations and the College was graded “Good” in October 2013 by Ofsted. We all see this as a significant milestone on our journey back to our previous “Outstanding” status. We have dedicated a team of teachers who will always go the extra mile for our students to climb the mountain to become truly brilliant. We want students to leave the Sixth Form with good qualifications plus an experience of a wide variety of non-qualification activities to ensure that our students stand out from the crowd when applying to universities or a relevant alternative.
Norton College Sixth Form offers a wide range of A level and applied learning courses with excellent facilities and its own building. We aim for excellence and are convinced that this can only be achieved in an environment where students are secure and happy. I think that being able to study a combination of A levels and applied learning is an advantage to our students as it enables them to have a varied curriculum that is personalised to each student.
We celebrate each of our students achievements and encourage each one of them to "believe they can" in order to "climb the mountain to university or relevant alternative".
